First aid

It is sensible for at least one of the group’s leaders to hold a current and valid first aid certificate. All adults should know how to contact the emergency services.

First Aid should be accessible and available at all times. First Aid kits are available at the school and on coaches. It is recommended that group leaders carry their own first aid kits (for use when other kits are not be available).

For the protection of both adults and young people, all adult supervisors should ensure that they are not alone with a young person wherever possible.

Group leaders are responsible for the group at all times with the help of the supervisors during activities and excursions.
